Here are the Pacific Parrotlet color mutations we breed at KTA and 2012 price list.

Most of the green babies I have come from pairs that have color mutation genes. Such as pairs that consist of one parent that is a color mutation, and the other parent is a green bird that carries a split to the same color as it’s mate. I have Greens, Greens/Blue, Greens/Dilute (yellow) and Greens/Lutino.

For Example: Three pairs that I have are a green split to American Yellow male paired with a Dilute (Yellow) Female. Any greens from these parents will carry the dilute gene. Recently the International Parrotlet Society has changed the name from American Yellow to Dilute.

Our Blues are big and spectacular. Healthy and strong. The pictures do not do their color justice. I have three pairs that produce blues.

Blue

The babies out of this pair will be the sweetest babies ever!!! The parents are both so sweet, that even when they have a clutch….they come out to me for head scratches and kisses. These two are unbelievable! I am going to try to co-parent with them this year (since mom’s care is better than anything a human can provide) and see how receptive they are to this. Doing this co-parenting, will allow the babies to learn from their parents on how to be a bird first, get the best nutritional feedings from their parents, while I spend all the time just playing with them and cuddling with them so they are even sweeter! Recent studies have shown that if this is possible to do with a pair that it is well worth your time and effort. The babies end up more confident, therefore, healthier, better socialized, and more easily learn to adapt to our human environments. I am very excited to give this a try! I may even keep one of these babies for myself and document the differences I observe.

Lutino

Pictured is an American White (Dilute Blue) next to a blue so you can see their color. They are white with a baby blue cast to them, the males retain the dark blue markings that you would find in the normal green males.

The pair to the left are the ones who produce the American Yellows (Dilute). The hen is an American Yellow (Dilute) while daddy is a Green / American Yellow (Dilute). These babies are just gorgeous. We have three identical pairs of these.

There is a waiting list on these beautiful birds. The sweeties of the Parrotlet world! These guys are TINY, weighing on average only 22 grams. Their green color ranges from emerald green to a green apple color with varying colors of yellow on the female and blue on the male. These birds make awesome pets for someone looking for a calmer more gentle little Parrot, that still has talking ability but not all the nips that the Pacific’s can sometimes deliver. Green Rumps are less common than the Pacific's and are sometimes very hard to find. Please call or email for availability.
